None of the motoneurons identified in Landgraf et al. (1997) or Schmid et al. (1999) are produced from NB5-4, in contrast to Schmidt et al. (1997). Schmid et al. (1999) identify the abdominal cells generated by NB5-4 as neurosecretory, similar to CCAP neurons. The thoracic neurons described (Schmid et al., 1999) are identified as interneurons. For this reason, this term and its children were obsoleted.
